This position is responsible for providing insightful and immersive financial support for our Private Bank Division. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the management and forecast of an entire business unit’s P&L and Balance Sheet. This is a small BUT high impact team that is constantly challenging processes to create efficiencies focused on driving positive business outcomes and supporting leadership’s vision. This requires close partnership with key leaders and supports an area of strategic importance for the firm. The successful candidate will work with various teams within the organization to ensure the integrity of the financial forecast within CFG’s CFO framework and will be encouraged to seek out ways to transform the way the finance team supports the business as it matures. This candidate will be part of an exciting journey and team charged with establishing routines, financial reporting and building various financial analyses to support ongoing strategic decisions to grow the Private Bank.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Private Bank CFO and business leadership on defining and executing our strategic plan, analysis of results, and development of plans to optimize results.

  • Partnering with key business partners in Private Bank, Finance, and other business segments to develop sophisticated financial models used to support key business decisions.

  • Developing and delivering analyses that demonstrate the value of the Private Bank business to the overall bank.

  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships across the bank (Consumer and Commercial) that are critical to successfully scaling the Private Bank with key financial underpinnings and outcomes.

  • Building the financial story, with key business insights, for monthly business and performance reviews

  • Work with business line management and Finance peers to complete the annual budget and strategic plans including creation of consolidated management budget packages that document key assumptions and drivers of financial and business results.

  • Partnering with the Finance team to identify and drive process improvements, including management / organization of metric data, and creation of standard and ad-hoc reports.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in financial analysis including the ability to perform rate\volume\mix analytics from balance sheet and revenue accounts.

  • 5+ years’ experience in banking is strongly preferred.

  • High level of proficiency in creating financial models in Excel, presentations in PowerPoint, and delivering financial and business presentations.

  • Demonstrated ability to extract salient points from analyses and deliver well-designed presentations.

  • Proficient at data visualization.

  • Strong communication and partnering skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to think deeply and understand the big picture, while working through the details required to ensure accountability for results.

  • Ability to work on multiple deliverables within tight deadlines.

  • Proven ability to forecast business performance that consider market conditions, interest rate environment, product mix, margins, cost structure and other inputs.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Word; skills with query logic such as SQL and PowerQuery desired.

  • Proficiency with financial databases such as Oracle Hyperion Essbase/Smart View.

Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting required or Science/Engineering/Math with 8+ years of relevant experience

  • Masters Degree preferred
